A noise-exposure programme is prioritising airports for monitoring and wants a first screen: which airports in the registry sit inside a continuous built-up area at all. The screen is a containment test between two layers and nothing more — but the programme needs it right, because the list decides where the monitors go.
Return the airports whose point lies inside an urban footprint, as points, carrying airport_id, name, type and scalerank.
An airport inside two overlapping footprints is one airport: return each once. Submit in EPSG:4326.
These are where the teaching is. Read them twice.
A containment screen between two layers is the first step of most exposure programmes — noise, flood, air quality — before any distance or population is computed.
