Follow a path or work through a project
Paths put problems in order towards an outcome; projects are real jobs worked a step at a time.

Learning paths
A path is an ordered sequence with a stated outcome. Its page says what you will be able to do, what it assumes, and lists the steps, each marked passed, up next, attempted or not started. No step is locked, and progress counts the problems you passed in practice.
Projects
A project is a real job, usually worked a step at a time: each step has its own brief, hints and solution, and opens once the one before it has passed. A SQL or Python step is worked in cells — for SQL, the query marked Answer is what Check step hands in; for Python, the cells are one script.
A step answered the same way as the one before opens on your earlier work — a diagram only when both steps draw the same kind. The project's XP is paid once, when the last step passes, and the finished project is listed on your profile.
